MSN Autos recently named the 1967 Shelby G.T.500 the “ultimate muscle car.” The Shelby G.T.500CR-900S model starts with a legend, and injects it with modern supercar technology: a 770 horsepower supercharged engine, advanced multi-link race car inspired suspension, an opulent interior and modern turn-key reliability. It’s the newest car to come from Classic Recreations and it’s a monster. (Read more…)
For over 45 years, the Mustang has been an American icon, unrivalled by any car, before or since. Since the first Fords rolled off the production line in the mid sixties, and Shelby got his hands on one a year later, the Mustang has been the car of choice for movie makers. No other car has achieved such celebrity status, or played a key role in as many films. And mustangs are still dominating the silver screen today. (Read more…)
It’s not very often an original Gone In 60 Seconds movie car comes up for auction. Only 858 were made in the two year production run and Ford handed these off to Kar Kraft to modify stock Mach 1 Mustangs. (Read more…)
There are some fantastic road rallies and endurance races around the world that vintage cars are a part of. The Mille Miglia and Targa Tasmania are two that come to mind. But there is also the Carrera Panamericana. It’s a road rally that runs from one end of Mexico to the other which originally ran for four years, 1950-1954, but has seen a ressurection in recent years. Though this years event has seen a quite severe crash involving a once nice looking vintage Mustang. (Read more…)
I know I’m always saying how close Toby’s car is from completion. I’ve probably been repeating myself for months and months. But as we all know with restorations like this anything can happen. A few weeks back I posted on Toby’s overheating issues, the last hurdle before delivery. Turns out the problem was not a simple one. It involved buying a whole new engine! (Read more…)
