So when I started out with this project I don’t think I knew what I was in for. I didn’t know how much money I was going to have to spend, but as always with me, I love a challenge and I know the money will be well spent. So for those of you wishing to do the same thing as me take note.
Probably the major factor in the cost of such a project is that I am located in Australia. So getting a car here was costly. The car itself, shipping, import fees, agent fees, taxes etc. came to about $AUD20,000. That’s just getting the car here in its unrestored stripped back form as seen here. Well sort of. One of the members of the Eleanorforum has put together a cool little video of his Eleanor, with a story line as well. The car is running a Supercharged 5.4L with wet plate NOS. The noise coming from that supercharger is just immense. Very much worth the watch.
I had an interesting email this week from one of my readers who was browsing the stories of the 1965 Playboy Pink cconvertible that my builder has. It’s not too often one of these come up. It’s one of the original movie cars from the 2000 remake of Gone In 60 Seconds. 11 cars were constructed for Jerry Bruckheimer for use in the movie.
