So just a small update regarding the Eleanor World Registry. Some of the guys on the forum have looked into producing specialized sill plate tags and VIN tags. A novel idea I must say. Here’s a take at how they will look (thanks to Richard for the pics)

I’m going to purchase these for my car. Not too sure if I will use them, as I have the standard Shelby Automotive VIN tag which I believe looks great, but we’ll see, it may grow on me.
Well it’s time for another parts order. Things are slowly coming together and as things progress there are some parts that are needed quite soon. So here is my latest bits an pieces order through the ever friendly guys at Mustangs Unlimited.
DA220 01 – DECK LID HINGE PAIR 67/68 MUSTANG FASTBACK

AF8 01 – ELEANOR SIDE EXHAUST TIPS PAIR 67/68 MUSTANG FBACK

662432 01 – ELECTRIC REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE KIT 67/70 MUSTANG

M9600C302 01 – AIR CLEANER KIT “COBRA” OVAL 1X4V (FRPP)

The above air cleaner is something I think will look good. currently I’m running the original round standard air cleaner. My car was originally sold with the Cobra accessories pack, which for some reason didn’t come with a Cobra air cleaner. So this will compliment my engine bay nicely. Here’s what i can look like.

The other item I’m happy to get a hold of is the electronic remote trunk release. The original trunk release method involved a cable that was pulled, this often rusted and was problematic in the now 40 year old cars. This updated version is all electric, no cables!
Well it’s official, I’m now recognized in the Eleanor World Registry. Even though it’s early days I’ve ticked all the boxes and have been issued with my tag.

As for the old girl, well the gas cap has been completed and the custom made filler tub has been fabricated and begun to be fitted. I’ll have pictures very soon! restoration guys are good with tools but not cameras
Well good news in this week. The fitting of the kit has FINALLY begun! Early days yet, but we’ve started mocking the kit up to see how she fits and how much work will be involved. As a lot of you know these kit’s don’t fit first go, far from it. every mold is different as is the shape of every car, so expect lots of hours and lots or work.
I’ve even been told about some parts of certain kits being so out of shape they had to be discarded and replacements bought.
So far we’ve just started on the upper scoops, side skirts, rear flares, trunk lid and rear panel.
Not the best photos I know but it’s all I could get. You can really see her taking shape even with the littlest of changes. Now I’m getting excited.
We also started mocking up where the gas cap would be and this is something I want to get right. I’m very adamant about the position as I don’t want it as far back as the Unique Performance caps. I want it in the position like the movie car had, like this:
So here are some shots of the progress of the gas cap:
Looking good I think, I should have some better shots in the next coming days, so check back soon.
