Hey Richard in these snaps the hood is the GT hood, not the one for the kit that's why it's looking short.

However the Fiber glass eleanor hood (shown in recent photos) is starting to fit a lot better, but we have had to extend the rear edge, by building it up with fiber glass.

The front edge has been built up as well with fiber glass so it matches the nose.

Thanks mate

Say... if you haven't started cutting/hacking the hood quite yet, let me ask:

Would it be easier to just extend the rear of the hood? The snaps make me want to grab the hood and pull it forward! If the distance could be made up at the rear, perhaps finding another hood or fabbing the metal, it might fit nicely.

Hey Justin,

It's to be expected that they won't fit. every single kit that has ever been made for Eleanor clones needs work and you can be sure none fit out of the crate. The thing is no one fastback is the same.

Some of the hours guys in the states have put into their kits is UNBELIEVABLE! We're spending a bit of time on it but far from what others have spent.

It's all good though, we'll get there soon enough :)

I take it you contacted the fellows that supplied the kit with your problem. They seem like a straight up business and they may be able to offer some advice or even better some reason why it's just not sitting right. May be that its a bad item and send a replacement. Save some time and $$$$
Good luck

Hey Hector,

The kit is an Australian made one. As far as i know it is the only one of it's kind that has the side scoop molded into the flare. I can put you in touch with the guys i bought it off if you like. But be aware this kit cost more than the US made kit's due to its higher quality.

Cheers

Hey Justin, yeah mate the photos where from a camera phone. All we had on the day i'm afraid. It's hard getting access to the old girl plus good photos when it's with someone else.

As for the Eleanor hood, it's much the same as the GT hood. The problem lies with the front of the kit rather than the hood itself. The hood is fine, but in order to get it to fit i think we're going to have to cut the hood in half shave some off the inside and fiber it back together. the front of the kit is by far the most work we've had so far.

Will keep you posted.

looks good even with not the best photo's, one question would be, Do the Eleanor hoods follow the exact line of the GT hood? would seem that if it flowed slower it may sit nice. Good to see it comin along for you
