Ok so it’s a pretty big update here as I have made one in a while. Firstly the rear panel is now glued in place and almost ready for the rear lights setup to start being installed, thankfully we haven’t had too many troubles with the back.
The fuel filler tube is now finished and also ready to start going in. You can see we have added a steel breather tube whereas a lot of others use a rubber breather. I think it works better this way.

It seems to go from bad to worse for Carroll Shelby and his many companies. First it was the help Shelby vs Unique Performance drama, which mind you is still going on, but now reports out of Hollywood from TMZ.com are that Denise Halicki, the daughter of Toby Halicki (1974, Gone in 60 Seconds) has filed a lawsuit claiming Carroll Shelby, Carroll Shelby International , Carroll Shelby Licensing, Carroll Shelby Engineering Inc, Carroll Shelby Motors Inc, Carroll Shelby Distribution Int. Inc, Carroll Hall Shelby Trust, Unique Motorcars Inc., Unique Performance Inc. and Sanderson Sales & Marketing as Defendants.
Halicki is claiming since the remake of the original film there has been a “blatant theft of Eleanor” by manufacturing, marketing and selling of unauthorised “knock offs” of “Eleanor” featured in the remake.

It’s a bit baffling that this has only come to light now, seven years after the movie. Either way it’s more unwanted attention for Carroll Shelby and Unique Performance.
You may all remember the recent post I made about the 1967 Shelby GT350 that was to be auctioned at the Australian International Motorshow. Well she went under the hammer last Sunday and unfortunately was passed in at $AUD200,000 – $AUD240,000. (That’s about $178,000 – $215,000 USD). I think they’re asking a lot for a GT350, I mean I’ve seen original GT500’s go for that price.

With all the disheartening news of all these companies taking people’s money and not delivering I thought I would show you that there are some companies out there doing some good! Read on
Ok I only have one updated picture for the moment, but the hood is fitting damn fine now. We are going back to the tail light panel for the rest of this week. We still need to do a few things to the nose but it is looking very good and as you can see the gaps are looking almost perfect.

Hopefully this weekend we’ll pull her out of the shed for some full body shots! Stay tuned.
So a couple of weeks ago I asked for you guys to email me your pictures and stories of your cars and in return I would post them up. Well due to my own project slowing down a bit (don’t get me started!) I thought no better time to take a look at some others.
First I’ll kick it off with Adam’s 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback S Code. He comments on here as ‘waldo’

Situated in Australia I’m usually so far removed from what’s going on in the world of Mustang’s and Eleanor, but the latest rumblings coming out of Farmers Branch, Texas are reaching me all the way down under! Read on.
I was taking a look at iblogmustang the other day and noticed Kris posted a nice video of the legendary 1968 Ford Mustang GT390 vs the modern Ford Mustang GT390. It’s a great video from Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson who pitches the modern stang against the vintage ‘Bullit‘ mustang. Go over and take a look, it’s well worth it.
But this got me thinking because I remember Top Gear running a ‘History of the Mustang’ segment one day and would you believe it, I found it!
In the sixties many new sounds came to the world. There was the wail of the protest song, the beep from an orbiting satellite, the ‘whomp’ of a Huey helicopter and best of all….THIS!……The bellow of a V8 Ford Mustang
enjoy!
Well the Australian International Motorshow begins next week and as always Shannon’s will be holding their annual motorshow auction in Sydney’s Convention Centre in beautiful Darling Harbour. Last year saw, if my memory stands, a 1967 Shelby GT500 and a 1968 Shelby GT350 go under the hammer.
