Readers Rides – Adam’s 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback S Code
So a couple of weeks ago I asked for you guys to email me your pictures and stories of your cars and in return I would post them up. Well due to my own project slowing down a bit (don’t get me started!) I thought no better time to take a look at some others.
First I’ll kick it off with Adam’s 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback S Code. He comments on here as ‘waldo’

Here’s Adam’s story behind his Mustang.
It’s a 68 “S” code I found it a few years ago in a old guys shed in Sydney. He had told me he had the vehicle since 1981, and after his marriage broke down he just wanted to get rid of it. My lucky day! As you can see it was fairly bad to start with, but with a little love and time it will become a weapon for the street.
As you can see it does take time i have done most of the work myself and also with a friend. I am starting to see the results of my hard work and late nights and early mornings, with the understanding of my wife at home
I can see from the photos that Adam has made some modifications to the trans tunnel (for a tremec perhaps) and also has used a shock tower notching kit.
I have been building it for about 2 years off and on. The bloke I got the car from had 3 I could choose any of them he did not know he had an S code sitting there.the car I am building is a bit of this and a bit of that everything on the car is brand new.
I’m using the Eleanor fiberglass kit with a fair few trick alloy parts. Complete under body is RRS phase 3.
If you noticed I did not reinforce the face side, I did from behind.
I have made fiberglass templates to go over the towers, trace and cut, thats how I did my notching of the towers. Weld plates in and wham there you have it. Everybody does the exhaust cut outs a little different, I don’t think I have seen any like my work on the sills.
Doing the towers for me was an easy way around things. My towers were cracked and rusted so once I attacked it with the plasma the problem was solved. Same with the firewall, get rid of all the holes you do not need them as I’m using different air cond.
Thanks for sending in your photos mate.
