Completely Fiberglass Ford Sierra Based Eleanor

fibreglass replica eleanor

Well what can I say! It actually doesn’t look that bad.. on the outside. This, however, is an Eleanor replica built on Ford Sierra chassis. What you see built on the chassis is all fiberglass. But much like original Mustang enthusiasts believe Eleanor is rubbish, Eleanor enthusiasts think this is rubbish.

The side exhausts are dummies with the real T390 stainless steel exhaust tip hanging down from the back (which are not visable).

When asked why he did this he said “to save on tearing apart an original” and apparently he does have an ‘original’ Eleanor of his own. What’s more is this eager builder has been known to criticize original Eleanor builds all while trying offering to build one of his versions for £36,000 and for that you get the car with a 289 or 302.

Here’s what some people are saying:

I have seen it!
Unbelievably foul!
MOre sierra rubbish! he has grafted the independent rear from said sierra!
When I asked him why? he said it makes it handle like you wouldn’t believe! I said well a sierra is shite so what have you changed? oh nothing was the reply!
He has even done worst thing and used a Subaru pedal box and pedals! just a stupid twat!
Leave well alone!
A case of a small bit knowledge is dangerous!

Make of it what you will, I think it’s a case of good from far, far from good. But something to look at and have a laugh about.

  2. I hope its perfectly in propotion to a ’stang. Take off the front, rear and skirts, make it look like a GT390 (May use some real stang bumpers), but then its still mainly fibreglass, so its light. 302ci V8 like a real one. Spend the same money on it as a real GT390, make it look like a real GT390, but then you have a lighter car, 4wd and independant rear suspension. Fibreglass = no rust too!
