We’re all accustomed to seeing the refreshed looking 2008 Bullitt Mustang but it looks like we may be seeing some official 1968 Bullitt Mustangs in the very near future.
Last week the McQueen estate confirmed they have authorized the building of official replica Bullitt Mustangs in honour of the film’s 40th anniversary.
What’s not clear yet is who will actually build the vehicles. The rights to the Bullitt name is co-owned by both the McQueen family and Warner Bros. That’s about all we know for now. It’s certainly an exciting development though there are some concerns, Will this turn into another Unique Performance type deal? Stay tuned though, the movie was originally released into theatres on October 17, 1968 so the 40th anniversary is only weeks away!
