Adrian’s 850hp Classic Recreations Eleanor Mustang

adrian_classic_recreation_eleanor_cover

Recently I posted a YouTube video of some workers from Classic Recreations testing a right hand drive Mustang bound for Australia. Well after the lucky owner of that car saw my post and contacted me we got talking.

Adrian researched his purchase for over two years and finally settled on Classic Recreations because they are officially licensed vehicles and in his own words “I guess they are a little more collectible

Currently the car is on its way to him. The build took over a year and I think it looks fantastic. If I could pick out anything about it, personally it would have to be the RHD dash; if you look closely the dash has merely been swapped rather than converted, with the AC controls now in the centre of the car rather than the sides. For me I think this interrupts the flow as the original dash would go from under, up across the dash and down under on the other side, if that makes sense. But as I said that is nit-picking. This car looks fantastic and I am certainly very jealous.

I’m sure Adrian cannot wait until he gets to drive it. I’m told Adrian will keep us informed as to how it goes. Stay tuned.

  1. Yes i picked up on that to Cam.I noticed when they did the conversion and i agree it would look better the dash the other way.I guess it is alot easier for them, still Jason said it took almost two months to do the conversion.

  2. Was the project built on a new dynacorn shell or was and old 67 donor car used.If a new shell was used how do you plan on getting it registered in Australia. I,m currently building one with a new shell and know that there is alot of work involved in meeting the requirements to get a blue slip. Car looks awsome. Look forward to seeing it at the car shows. 3. Hey Michael, I’ll let Adrian answer that one.

As for registration well it depends on which state you are in. I know Victoria differs from NSW a bit so some things Adrian is doing to his car i can’t do and visa versa.

Im sure Adrian will read this soon and reply.

    Thanks
    Cam

  4. Hi Micheal, car is a orginal body not a reproduction.Car as a reproduction new body would have been a big hassle importing and getting registered in Australia.I wanted to get a new body but found out the problems that go with it and we decided to use a orginal body instead.I would have had alot of trouble importing car with a new body, that was the main reason.

  6. I have a car builder here in Sydney who is working closely with RRS and will engineer it and register it before i take delivery. Why did you not consider a local car builder ,might have worked out cheaper with the exchange rate and all the taxes to inport a complete car. In any event Classic Recreations has a good name in the states for producing good work. I,m glad you did your homework before you started might have gone with unique and been disappointed. I hope you exhibit the car at shows as i look forward to seeing it, can,t wait to get mine now you got me all fired up. Enjoy your new toy. mick

Yes,i could have got it built here. But this is the real deal No.12/200/750hp licensed car.Bought when dollar was strong against the US.I wouldn’t have bought it now, if i was buying now with the dollar value. Not sure about car shows yet, will see when i get the car.Yes ,i’m very lucky i didn’t go with unique.Would have lost my money for sure.Good luck with your build, post up some photos when you can

Still, there is a few things that need adjusting.Doors, left passagener door wont shut 100%.Drivers side shuts but could be better.I think things came lose or moved with the transport.I think the power sterring is leaking fluid.Need to adjust pedals to suit me.I’ll Get these things checked out next week.Paint and body is awesome

  12. I,ve been waiting a long time for my shell , thought it was being delivered to my car builder today only to find out that the shell was damaged in transit along side alot of rrs parts .I never thought building a car would be so dissapointing. I have a great car builder George, he owns Robert st Auto,s he specailises in restorations and has a 67 coupe which will be featuring in street machine as they have been following the build. To all you guys that have your cars i,m in envy of you all. As soon as my new shell lands in the country i will post more info and pictures.
