Officially Licensed 850hp Eleanor Bound For Australia

classic-recreations_australian_bound_eleanor

I was only speaking with Jason from Classic-Recreations a few weeks back when he told me he had a few cars headed for Australia, but apart from that I have not seen any of them until now. I stumbled upon what seems to be a video of Classic-Recreations workers test driving the RHD car for their client, who they say, is one Adrian Salvo.

The car sounds and looks amazing from what you can see in the video but what’s probably most humours about this video is the driver claiming it’s “very awkward driving the right hand drive”

The car is decked out with everything an Aussie rev-head would need; navigation, handmade wheels, supercharger, nos, Keith Craft racing motor, 427 bored out. Coilover suspension front and back, nascar rear-end. And Classic-Recreations claims it “Drives as good as it looks”

I don’t know the lucky new owner of this car but I would love to have a chat with him, maybe he reads this blog? If so Adrian drop me a line. I hope to see his car around town in the near future. Now I just need to speak to Jason about a RHD dash!

  2. Adrian, Wow i didn’t think you would actually read this blog. Good to see you have found the site.

So tell us about your car, what made you take the leap and go with Jason and CR? When does she arrive and more importantly do you or will you have more pictures and videos to share with us all?

Send me an email. 67mustangblog@gmail.com if you like. If you’re in Sydney it would be good to meetup one day. Maybe if i ever get my car done!

  7. That video is my inspetor test driving the car.Steven Tucker is the inspector and JD from classic is taking the video.I think JD makes that funny comment about the right hand drive. It was the final inspection before delivery.I can’t believe that video made it to Aussie viewers.

  8. I believe the folks over at RRS are selling panels in RHD Conversion Kit for 67 Mustangs that includes inner fender, firewall, lower cowl, cowl vent, dash panel, wiper trans, wiper arms and spindles for about $5000.

  9. Daniel! thanks so much for that. i didn’t realise RRS were selling these. i think i may have to purchase one. Got my builder looking at it today.

Currently i still haven’t converted and the wait time is way too long.. so this looks great!

will make a post about it as well.

    thanks

  10. When I was speaking to Angela from RRS a few months back she mentioned they were looking at doing the same sort of RHD conversion kit for 65/66 Mustangs as well. I’ve got a 65 Fastback i’m doing a ground up nut and bolt restoration on at the moment and have all of the RRS suspension gear (front and rear)and LHD power steering rack for it. As you’ve mentioned before it’s great stuff and pretty easy to install.

  11. Congratulations Adrian! It’s great to see a Classic Recreation built Eleanor heading to Australia.
I hope the car gets on the car show circuit or a magazine shoot so that Aussies could get a closer look at this phenomenal machine.
I have a question regarding compliancing and road registering the car for use on Victorian Roads. What is the process involved? Is it done through SEVS? Do you need an independent engineer’s certificate? Any feedback would be appreciated.

  15. Hi Mattew, thanks for the kind comments.Jason already has a independent engineer lined up that he has ready in Victoria to give the certificate. As far as i know car will pass Vicroads standards.I know they took off the racing harness which doesn’t and the side view mirrors are different to the movie car as they are not adjustable(fixed) therefore they don’t pass vicroads.Everything else should be ok Jason tells me.

  16. Wow Adrian, I haven’t even thought about if mine will pass in NSW. I have the Raydot mirrors like the movie car, not too sure if they will pass in NSW. also i know for sure my functional side exhaust will not pass as this is not allowed in NSW.

All my running gear is RRS which is all engineered for Aus.

Anyway good food for thought. i should get researching.

  17. I wanted to get the Raydot Mirrors ,but was told they wouldn’t pass here.I think they look better,i think it all depends on the inspector you get. It’s funny how every state has different rules.

  20. Hello Adrian, I am Steve from autoappraise.com Great that we can finally talk without middlemen, email me and I would like to talk in private, about what happened in the inspection. The car, was no doubt, perfect when you got it. I went over every inch 10 times the last inspection
