Unique Performance 1967 Shelby GT500 Supersnake SS058 Up For Auction

The dark days of the Unique Performance downfall are well behind us now though some of the few cars fortunate enough to be completed and delivered to customers are still coming up for auction. That is what we have here. At the time one of Unique Performance’s top of the line vehicles. The 1967 Shelby GT500 continuation Supersnake.

The car is powered by a 800hp all aluminum supercharged Shelby 427 FE big block that has been bored to 482cid which as you can imagine makes it quite a powerful vehicle. This is all mated to a Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission, Fab 9 rear end with 3.50 gears, racing axles and a posi-traction third member to maximize the power to the ground via polished PSE wheels mounted on street legal race tires. It is listed in the Shelby American Registry # CSE SS-058 with proper ID plate on the driver’s side fender.

The specs for this car are truly impressive but the question remains. Is the build quality any good? Who knows if this car was built by prisoners or was constructed using an excessive amount of bondo?

If this one doesn’t take your fancy there are some other great Mustangs on the block. Especially this original 1967 Shelby GT500 and this Eleanor styled convertible.

The cars goes under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas at approximately 6pm on September 22, 2012 and is to be sold without reserve and currently there is no estimate on it. What do you think it will sell for?
