Bosch Xenon projector headlights arrive

Bosch Xenon projector headlights with d2s They’ve arrived! The Bosch Xenon projector headlights with D2S bulbs are here, along with the ballasts and wiring harness. They look fantastic however I have found some issues I’m a little worried about. I couldn’t get them on camera but you can tell the resin used to seal up the casing produced some kind of fumes which have settled on the inside of the unit. One of them you can see small finger prints on the inside and the other has a bit of a ‘fogging’ like look to it. I would be interested to see what happens when the lights are fired up because i know the produce and high intensity beam that produces quite a substantial amount of heat. Will it just burn these imperfections away, or will they effect the beam? I guess we’ll have to wait an see.

  1. Hey Ken,
No they are 100% custom made. We bought the 7″ headlights and cut the back out. then we bought Bosch Xenon projectors from hidplanet.com and had them put together.
IF you search my site you will find a few other posts on the construction of them.
    Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Thanks,
You would think a manufacturer like Bosch or Hella would recognize the fact that many classic car owners would like to update their 7 or 5-3/4 inch buckets to projector beams.
fwiw, there are two similar designs on ebay. One is just a plastic cover over a regular headlight body and a fake projector lens, the other probably the same.

  3. Hey mate,
For sure they are. Their increased range and brightness is enough for me to get them. Compared to the older ‘yellow’ looking lights these xenons are a god send!

  4. Thanks John,
They still haven’t gone into the car yet, so i’m still not 100% sure if all will go to plan. I’m on a bit of a hiatus at the moment while i wait for some funds and pay off some other things.
    Thanks for stopping by though.
    Cheers
    Cam

  5. Eleanor Headlights 5 3/4.
I mucked around for a while with lights too but in the end went to repco and picked up some brand new Narva headlight buckets in a 5 3/4 with a chrome trim for about $60 a pair. Matching H4 lamps 55/100 with parker insert option were another $140 or so. With all the other PIAA lights on the car I figure things will be ok.

  6. dude i need to find someone who is selling projectors with ballasts and harness plug and play and ill make my own plastic lens. please tell me where to go
