New Order – Eleanor Headlight Buckets and Shelby Valve Covers

Well it’s slow going but finally I’ve had to feed my addiction and place an order with Mustangs Unlimited. Today I spoke with my builder and he in turn spoke with the body guy and they both confirmed that the Aeroform headlight buckets WILL fit my custom Bosch Xenon headlamps Hoorah!

The headlight buckets and brackets are especially made for the Eleanor kits. They allow you to mount the headlight inside the kit which is often tricky with these kits. The buckets (Read more…)

7″ Mustang Headlights – Fitting to Eleanor Kit – I May Be In Luck!

So one of the problems of late has been the whole projector headlight fitting issue. The problem was I waited so long for these custom headlights which came as 7″ only to find that once installed they were too large. We needed the Shelby 5 3/4″ headlights.

Where I’m at – An Eleanor update

Well I know lately I haven’t been posting any updates on my car because basically there aren’t any updates. With Christmas upon as things have slowed down quite a bit.

It pays to do your research!

OK so it’s a fact! I am an idiot. It pays to do your research and when you don’t you’ll get into the predicament i am in.

So I’ve spent several months and close to one thousand dollars and now we’ve figured out we have the wrong size lights!

Here is where I got confused. I was always under the impression Mustangs used 7″ round headlights and I never knew that Shelby’s had smaller lights of 5 3/4″ lights! And further (Read more…)

Fitting the Shelby rear taillights!

The Shelby taillights have been fitted and the side exhaust tips are being worked on. It’s coming down to the little odds and end with the whole kit fitting.

Well after a very demoralising weekend having been told the bill for the body work, fitting the kit and labour I’ve finally feeling a bit better after getting some more photos! No matter how much this project is costing me all my worries and fears dissipate when i see the old girl taking shape.

Major update – PIAA lights installed, Front nose, Fuel filler!

Ok so it’s a pretty big update here as I have made one in a while. Firstly the rear panel is now glued in place and almost ready for the rear lights setup to start being installed, thankfully we haven’t had too many troubles with the back.

The fuel filler tube is now finished and also ready to start going in. You can see we have added a steel breather tube whereas a lot of others use a rubber breather. I think it works better this way.
