New Shelby Signature Gauges from Classic Recreations

Classic Recreations, my Carroll Shelby signature Shelby gauges, in KPH. (hey, i live in Australia!). They are something I’ve talked about quite a bit and whilst I already purchased a great set of Autometer gauges quite a few years ago I just could not pass up the opportunity to have these guys in my car. Check them out after below.

Now while these are sold via Classic Recreations they are actually produced by Classic Instruments. However, I’m led to believe Classic Recreations are the only guys who have the license for the Shelby branding. So you are not currently able to buy them directly from Classic Instruments. They aren’t even listed on their site.
Purchasing the gauges was hassle free. I was worried as I needed a custom order of what is essentially a custom gauge package it was going to be a nightmare, but everything ran smoothly. From contacting Jason and his team at CR to asking for custom KPH gauges. Everything was ordered pretty swiftly.
From ordering to delivery to Australia the whole process took just over a month. Considering CR had to order everything to be made from another company then send to Australia I would say that is really good!
It is worth noting though, as I had a KPH gauge delivered for the speedo I was unable to order the temp gauge in metric (celsius) but that is something that doesn’t really bother me. I do wonder though if you could order other fonts for the gauges. Notice mine in the below pictures are slightly italicized and over the years we have seen various from the same provider (and other makers) in straight fonts and even smaller, non-bold font.
Overall these gauges are going to make put the icing on the cake for this car. Looking through that hand made French steering wheel onto these won’t get boring. I just need to remember to keep my eyes on the road!
